3 Ways to Improve Your Online Dating Profile #2

However you feel about online dating you can't ignore that it's a great place to meet someone. It's estimated that a third of couples use online dating to begin relationships and eHarmony suggests that over half of us will be meeting our future partners this way by 2031. Currently over seven million of us in the UK use online dating sites and apps in the UK, so how can you ensure that YOUR dating profile stands out?

TIP 2: Write an engaging and inviting written profile

Once your new dating photos are up on your dating profile and giving potential dates plenty of reasons to stop and take notice, you'll need to put together a bit of blurb that enhances the picture they are building of you.

On Tinder you'll need just a paragraph, on other dating sites you may need to complete many more paragraphs. Do fill them all in!

What should I write in my dating profile?

What you write about yourself in your online dating profile is important but HOW you write it is even more so. My top tip for what you should say about yourself in your dating profile is to embellish.

Instead of writing 'I like to eat out, watch box sets, and travel' consider WHY you like those things and share that too which will give a far more telling insight into your personality, outlook on life and your values....

'I love eating out and exploring food from around the world, especially when I can share the experience with great company. I travel when I can. I feel so energised being in other cultures and seeing how other people live. The last place I visited was Marrakesh. Most evenings you’d have found me sipping a cocktail in a roof top bar, listening to the sounds of the souk as the sun set over the Atlas Mountains - magical. When I’m not on a roof terrace somewhere exotic you’ll find me cosying down with a good box set, especially a thriller. Have you seen True Detective?'

I just wrote that quickly but you get the idea. Already it's starting to tell a story of who you are, how you live your life, it invites somebody in (who can resist a dinner with great company?) and, most importantly, gives a potential date lots of ways to start a conversation with you.
