20.06.2012 Made in Italy | Umbria | Cookery School
In between relaxing by the pool in the sumptuous gardens of an Umbrian villa the guests got cooking with Umbrian MasterChef Masha Rener. Masha is a brilliant local chef and creates all sorts of delicacies from locally-sourced, fresh produce, much of which she grows herself on her Agriturismo at La Chiusa, also a very successful restaurant.
Guests learnt how to make their own pasta, gnnochi, pizza and traditional breads (in the outdoor oven) and all sorts of other delights with produce from the local markets in and near Umbertide, Masha’s farm, and herbs picked straight from the garden. Every meal was a feast! (My favourite was apricot cake, which was mouthwatering for breakfast with a strong black coffee).
‘Made in Italy’ is a specialist cookery course developed by the wonderfully talented Liz Griffiths (top photograph – centre), Umbrian MasterChef Masha Rener (left) and supported by lovely Mary Chater (right). These ladies rock!
