11.03.2011 Engagement shoot | Bec & Phil | Sydney
When Bec and Phil sent me through their ideas for their engagement shoot I was completely over excited. A beach! Views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge! Luna Park! Bring it on!!
The morning of the shoot started with mist and rain but we weren’t to be thwarted and after a hearty breakfast (Sydney knows how to do breakfast!) we drove off to Bradley’s Head on the North Shore. This little beach has amazing views across the water to Sydney Harbour and is where Phil popped the question, so it’s really close to both their hearts.
Bec had brought along some props to represent both of their backgrounds. She’s originally from the UK, Phil was born in Sydney, they live in Brisbane and they had their first date in L.A. (Bec & Phil both work for airlines so when Phil found out that Bec was heading off to L.A. for work he did a little romantic planning and made sure he was there at the same time!) I love these shots of Bec and Phil on the beach, they look so happy. They are also both great to photograph – look how gorgeous they are with each other!
After a drizzly start and a lot of fun we set off to Luna Park. Oh my goodness! I ADORE old fashioned funfairs. This one rocked! It’s not huge but it has some great paintwork for backdrops and is overlooked by the bridge. Oh, and a HUGE smiling head for the entrance! The sun came out for a bit too.
With just 30 minutes to spare we jetted off to the Botanical Gardens, whizzed off some romantic shots in the last of the light, let the balloons go (well, sort of!) and then called it a day so Bec and Phil could get to the airport for their flight back to Brisbane.
